HappySounds Music is based on the Suffolk/Essex border and is run by professional performer and voice coach Nettie Osman.
Nettie has 35 years’ experience in the music industry, performing as a soloist and in bands, touring and recording, session work and musical theatre. Having also worked as a training manager in the corporate world, it was a natural progression to train as a voice coach, and in 2008 Nettie gained certification in the Estill method of singing.
Since 2008 Nettie has regularly updated her knowledge by attending the latest courses from various top vocal practitioners including Singing and the Actor/Advanced Singing and the Actor, and has gained many CPD points in recent years. Nettie started the HappySounds Community Choir in October 2018, after being approached by some very lovely people with breathing difficulties, to help them with some exercises. Very soon, around 25 people were attending weekly, and when asked the question “do you want to be a proper choir as well as being a therapy group” the answer was a resounding “yes please”.
Since Covid, the choir has undergone many changes, including running online at one point, but is now rehearsing again in person with a view to giving online concerts for care homes. The choirs are fun places to be, everyone has made lots of new friends, and they also get the benefit of some pro voice technique tips.
Nettie also gives online performances to Care Homes around the UK, singing songs from the 1940’s onwards. She also performs as a solo artist, and sings and plays guitar in an acoustic duo, with her husband Dave.
